The Post office provides an ATM card facility for saving account holders. This ATM card is used as per bank ATM card. If you have also taken an ATM card for a savings account in the post office, then it is necessary to know the transaction rules on it.


How much amount can be withdrawn from an ATM in a day?

According to the official website of the Post Office, one can withdraw 25 thousand rupees from an ATM card in one day. An amount of Rs. 10 thousand can be withdrawn in one transaction.


Transaction Charges

If you are a resident of Metro City, you can do 3 free transactions from another bank's ATM in a month. Also, 5 times free transactions can be done for Non-Metro CT. There is no charge for transactions made through Post Office ATMs. Rs.20 + GST is charged after the free transaction limit is exceeded from another bank's ATM.

If you are going to replace the post office ATM card, as per the official website of the post office you have to pay Rs.300 + GST. 50 + GST while generating PIN from the branch and Rs. 20 + GST if the transaction declines due to lack of funds in the account.

Post office ATM card user has to pay a maintenance charge of Rs.125 + GST every year. Also, a post office debit card user is charged Rs 12 per SMS per year.
